Who You're Hiring

I will go into each session knowing I only get but a glimpse of the fullness of your life, I will make it count.

I will go into each session knowing most kids (and grown ups) get nervous before photos, the lead up to it can feel daunting, the pressure is on and it often doesn’t feel fun for the ones not in charge.

I will go into each session with extra time before and after knowing some kids (and grown ups) simply need more.

I will not force a child to pretend to be okay, I’d rather give them more time to adjust.

I will go into each session with my intention set on building confidence and highlighting beauty.

I will go into each session looking for your specific needs.

I will not forget that your time and investment came at a cost.

I will not forget that the experience of having your life documented is vulnerable and at times, uncomfortable.

I will do everything in my power to make you comfortable.

My name is Bri. I'm based just south of Detroit. I started photography in high school and with the help of my family, friends and teachers, I started building my business. The photos on this website are a just a fraction of the portfolio I've been privileged to build between then and now.

I graduated high school, went away to college and photography became more of a hobby than a business.
Then I met my husband, Jack, and on Halloween of 2014, we bought an old home in Jackson and restored it.
A few years later, we had our son and a few weeks before his first birthday, Jack's mom died.

Through grief, we have become the kind of people who understand loss deeply.
We experienced grief coexisting with joy and understood that despite loss, there is fullness.
We are now especially aware of the way the grieving must keep going.
Almost everyone is grieving in some way, shape or form and so when you are reaching out,
please give me context to your story so I can curate your session to meet your specific needs.
I will honor your loss and what it has taken for you to keep going.

Life never feels quite right, and if you wait to document it until it is, you might not get a chance to.
